Parliament to discuss law to decrease salaries of leading officials – Parliament Members.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – The Iraqi Parliament has decided to discuss in its session on Saturday a draft-law for decreasing the salaries of high-ranking officials and Parliament members, the Legislature for the National Coalition, Ali al-Shilah said.   “The Parliament’s session today (Saturday) includes discussing a draft-law to decrease the salaries of the three leading Presidencies (President, Prime Minister and Parliament’s Speaker) and Members of the Parliament,” Shilah told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the session “shall also discuss the draft-law on the financial observation, another draft-law on the Trusteeship, along with the law on the Federal Court.”   Shilah said that the session “shall also summon Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristany, as well as the Ministers of Electricity and Oil.”   He added that the draft-law to decrease the salaries of the said high-ranking officials shall decrease the salaries of each of the said high-ranking officials to 12 million Iraqi dinars monthly, the Parliament Members and ministers to 8 million dinars, under-secretries to 6 millions and director-generals to 4 million dinars per month.   A U.S. dollars equals 1,118 Iraqi dinars approx.   PT / SKH 360
