Turkish Prime Minister, Receb Tayyip Erdogan, visits Najaf

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Turkey’s Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, now on an official visit for Iraq, has arrived in southwestern Iraq’s city of Najaf, the semi-official al-Iraqiya TV Channel reported. Erdogan’s visit for Iraq is taking place, being part of the improvement of relations between Turkey and Iraq, especially on the political and economic levels, boosted by a number of agreements, signed between both countries over the past 3 years, aimed at boosting cooperation in the fields of economy, transportation, trade exchange and agriculture. The Turkish Prime Minister had visited Iraq twice, in 2008 and 2009, thing that had a positive impact on the improvement of Iraqi-Turkish relations and the settlement of suspended dossiers on the security and political levels.
