BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – The Iraqi film “ Babylon ’s Son,” of its Iraqi Director, Mohammed al-Darrajy, is on show in Kuwaiti cinemas nowadays, a Kuwaiti newspaper reported on Saturday. “The Kuwaiti cinema houses have witnessed the show of the Iraqi film “ Babylon ’s Son,” for its Director Mohammed al-Darrajy, taking place with the anniversary of Kuwait ’s National Day, the Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa newspaper pointed out. The Kuwaiti newspaper stressed that “the said film was not only a simple cinematography action, but a political document, marking the sufferings of the people of Iraq , during the regime of its former President Saddam Hussein.” “The events of the films date back to the period that took place two weeks after the downfall of Saddam Hussein’s regime in March, 2003, through a tour by an old Kurdish lady and her 12-year-old grand-son, Ahmed, looking for its lost son, Ibrahim, who was lost 12 years ago,” the paper noted. It said that Ibrahim did not return home since the war for the liberation of Kuwait (from Iraq’s occupation) in 1991, and his old mother, trying to find him among Iraqi prisoners-of-war (POWs), in southern Iraq’s Nassiriya city, moving from north Iraq to its south, looking for her son in prisons, and ending with the mass graveyards, but failed to find him, alive or dead.
