Mass grave with 812 bodies found in Anbar

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A mass grave was discovered in western Iraq ’s al-Anbar province with 812 corpses of people killed during the former Baath regime Iraq ’s Human Rights Ministry   announced on Wednesday.   “Iraq’s Human Rights Minister, Mohammed Shia’a al-Sudany, had uncovered the existence of a large mass graveyard, including 23 positions, with remains of 812 people, killed during the former Baath regime in the period from 1980 to 1989,” the Ministry’s Spokesman, Kamel Amin told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the Minister “had noticed during his visit to the graveyard that some of the victims had been shot by bullets in the heads and they included men, women and children, belonging to different Iraqi nationalities, some of them with military uniform and others wearing Kurdish and Arab costumes.”   “The graveyard has been discovered by one of the citizens of Anbar Province , who passed the information to our Ministry, that sent our specialized teams in mass graveyards to check the venue of the graveyard,” he added.   In conclusion, the spokesman said that the Ministry had sent species of the remnants of the graveyard to the related departments, that would check the identity of the victims and inform their families in this respect.   SKH (IT) 708
