Bahraini authorities detain Iraqi soccer player for unknown reasons

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Soccer Player,   Dhul-Fiqar Abdul-Amir Naji, had been detained by the Bahraini security authorities for unknown reasons, his Father, the former Iraqi Al-Zawraa Soccer Team’s Player, Abdul-Amir Naji said on Saturday.   “The Bahraini security authorities have detained my son, Dhul-Fiqar, 16, who is member of the Bahraini al-Mahriq Club, for unknown reasons,” Abdul-Amir told IraqiNews.com news agency, calling on all sports officials in Bahrain to interfere to release his son, who he said “is a sportsman and has nothing to do with politics.”   Abdul-Amir Naji has played with Iraq ’s al-Zawraa Soccer Team from 1978 to 1992, as well as having worked as a training coach in Bahrain for 7 years.   SKH (ST)   788
