Kut morgue receives 2 decayed bodies

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The al-Zahraa Hospital morgue on Sunday received two decomposed bodies salvaged from a canal in the outskirts of al-Suwayra city, northern Wassit, a morgue source said. “The bodies, whose hands were tied and showed signs of having been tortured, were decomposed for staying a long time in the water,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Al-Suwayra is a district that lies 135 km north of Kut. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad , is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra . Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province . AmR (P) 1
