Babel Province, 1st in palm-trees planting in Iraq
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A study, prepared by Dhi-Qar Province has showed that west Iraq’s Babel Province has occupied the first rank in the planting of palm-trees among other Iraqi Provinces, confirming that it possessed 1 million and 358,261 palm-trees, i.e. 14.35% of the total palm-trees in the country. “ Babel Province had occupied the 1 st rank in the number of palm-trees, as it possessed 1 million 358,261 palm-trees, i.e. 14.35% of the total palm-trees in the country and Karbala came 2 nd with 1 million 345,438 – 14.23%, followed by Baghdad with 1 million, 207,661 – 12.76%, Diala – 4 th – 1 million, 179,792 – 12.46%, Basra – 5 th with 1 million, 7,913 – 10.65%, and the last had been Dhi-Qar, with 62,786 – 14.23%,” Researcher Hussein Alewi Nassir of Dhi-Qar University’s Collage of Literature said.
