Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – A US defense official said on Monday that US forces in Iraq and Syria have already been attacked more than 100 times since October 17.

US and Coalition Forces have been assaulted at least 101 times between October 17 and December 18, a US official told Al-Arabiya News.

Using close-range ballistic missiles, mortars, rockets, and one-way attack drones, there have been 55 strikes in Syria and 46 in Iraq.

The latest known strikes occurred on December 16 at the Mission Support Site Euphrates in Syria, when a pair of separate incidents took place using one-way attack drones.

A third strike using numerous rockets targeted the same US base, according to the US official.

On December 14, several one-way attack drones were fired at US soldiers at Ain Al-Asad Airbase in the western Iraqi governorate of Anbar.

According to the official, there were no injuries or infrastructure damage as a result of the strikes.

Iraqi armed groups backed by Iran have claimed responsibility for many drone and missile attacks on US and coalition forces in Iraq and Syria since October 17 in response to Washington’s support for Israel in its war in Gaza.
