Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq was the third-largest oil exporting country to China during 2023, according to a report published by Reuters.

China’s total imports of oil rose during 2023 to a record level of 563.99 million metric tons, a quantity equivalent to 11.28 million barrels per day.

Russia was the largest oil exporter to China in 2023. It exported 107,024,517 metric tons, equivalent to 781,275 million barrels.

Saudi Arabia was the second-largest oil exporter to China in 2023, with a quantity of 85,959,517 metric tons, equivalent to 627,500 million barrels.

Iraq was the third-largest oil exporting country to China last year. Iraq’s oil exports to China reached 59,260,931 metric tons, equivalent to 432,604 million barrels. The quantities mark an increase of 6.8 percent compared to the quantities exported in 2022.

China disregarded Western sanctions in order to buy large amounts of oil for its processing facilities.
