Iraq’s Center Alliance rejects NCSP’s Chairmanship to the President or Prime Minister

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Center Alliance has announced on Tuesday its rejection of the assignment of the Chairmanship of the National Council for Strategic Polices (NCSP) to the Iraqi President or the Prime Minister, the Alliance’s MP, Mohammed Iqbal said. “The Center Alliance rejects the assignment of the NCSP’s Chairmanship to the President or the Prime Minister,” Iqbal told IraqiNews.com news agency, warning that “such step would further complicate the situation.” Hassan al-Sunaid, an official, close to Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has stated to the semi-official Iraqi Satellite TV Channel early in the day that “Al-Iraqiya Coalition’s Leader, Iyad Allawi, is no longer suitable to occupy any political position in the State, because he had kept himself away from the concept of the national-partnership.” Sunaid said that the National Coalition (led by PM Maliki), stemming for the plan to cut-short the High State Positions, suggests the assignment of the NCSP to the Prime Minister or the President. As regards to al-Iraqiya’s intention to question the Prime Minister in the Parliament, Iqbal said “al-Iraqiya Coalition can question the Prime Minister,” adding that the questioning would lead to further tension and difference between the two Coalitions.” Al-Iraqiya Leader, Iyad Allawi, had launched a strong attack on Friday against the Leader of al-Daawa Party, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, charging him with “lying, hypocrisy and deception,” adding that Maliki had depended on the foreigner and Iran to become Prime Minister.   SKH (TR)/SR 629
