Support for Allawi’s stances – al-Iraqiyah leaders

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Leaders of al-Iraqiya bloc expressed their support for the head of the coalition Iyad Allawi, calling on the State of Law leader Premier Nouri al-Maliki to respond to the Arbil initiative. Vice-Premier Saleh al-Mutlaq of al-Iraqiya bloc stated this support in press conference, as well as the need to abide by Arbil accords. Disputes have escalated lately between Allawi and Maliki, and have included an exchange of charges and accusation. Al-Iraqiya threatened to question Premier Maliki in the parliament, while State of Law members, affiliated with the National Alliance, accepted this challenge, provided it should be within constitutional limits. Allawi made a strong attack against Maliki accusing him of being “a liar, hypocritical and misleading”, who got the premiership by foreign aid and Iranian support. RM (TS)/SR 360
