Premier calls for providing services – strategic project

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki called on governors and officials in the local government to provide strategic projects and services for the citizens.   Maliki was speaking in a conference prepared by the State Ministry for Provinces’ Affairs.   In a statement published on the official governmental site, Maliki stressed implementing services projects, such as water, bridges and roads.   He called on the local government to estimate their needs that are to be allocated by the central government.   The conference  discussed the legal, administrative and financial problems that face the local governments.   It was decided that a joint meeting shall be held among the governors and the ministries connected with the work of the provinces in order to solve these problems and minimize the routine. 470
