Political blocs shoulder responsibility for nominating incompetent persons, Iraq’s PM says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Thursday that “responsibility falls on the political blocs, to help shortening the cabinet posts,” calling them to shoulder their responsibility for nominating any   incompetent person.”   “Responsibility today falls on the shoulders of the political forces, participating in the government of national-partnership, to help in cutting short the cabinet posts and making a change in the number of ministries, on the level of the minister or the main cadre in other ministries, in order to put an end for over-expansion, suffered by the government, since the first day of its formation six months ago,” Maliki said in a speech on the occasion of the end of   100-day period he assigned to evaluate the activity of his government that ended this month.   Maliki said that “the political blocs are the parties that nominate their candidates for the important posts in the State, and if any bloc had the right to be proud of its successful minister, it must shoulder the legitimate and national responsibility, in the event of its nomination of a person who lacks efficiency,” calling on the political blocs to “cooperate in the nearest possible time to achieve necessary demands that serve the interest of the people and the Homeland.”   SKH (IT)     699
