”Iraq’s implementation of international commitments towards Kuwait shall restore trust between both countries,” Kuwait’s PM says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Kuwait ’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed Subah al-Salem al-Subah, has expressed confidence that Iraq ’s implementation of its international commitments towards his country, would share in building trust and improve relations between both countries, according to the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday.   “Subah has confirmed in two messages, addressed to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ku Mon and the current UN Security Council’s Chairman, the German Ambassador, Peter Fitg, had expressed Kuwait’ serious wish to strengthen relations of good neighborhood and Kuwait’s full readiness to help Iraq implement its commitments in the nearest possible time,” KUNA quoted Subah as saying.   “We confirm our serious wish to improve bilateral relations to the level that serves the interests of both countries and peoples, and strengthen relations of good neighborhood,” Subah said.   KUNA also quoted Subah as saying: “We are confident that Iraq ’s implementation of its remaining international commitments under the UN patronage and its respect for UN Security Council Resolution 833 of 1993, its implementation, shall represent an important entrance to build trust between both countries.”   Kuwait ’s Prime Minister had also expressed “ Kuwait ’s full readiness to present support and assistance Iraq needs to accelerate the process of implementing its remaining commitments, cited in UN Security Council’s remaining resolutions, related to the same topics.”   Iraq ’s bilateral relations with Kuwait are witnessing tension, after Kuwait ’s decision to build the Grand Mubarak Terminal, close to the Iraqi territorial waters, described by Iraqi experts and technicians, as tightening hold on Iraq ’s sea navigation.   SKH (RT) 456
