Iraqi Legislature charges Iraqi gov’t with failure to repel Iranian bombardment, because Tehran controls Baghdad’s political decision.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by Iyad Allawi, Shaalan Abdul-Karim, has said on Thursday that “ Iraq can’t repel the Iranian bombardment on its northern territories , because Tehran has full control on Baghdad ’s political decision.”   “Iran is in control of the Iraqi politics and Iraq’s political decision, bombarding border villages in Kurdistan Region, blocking water on Iraq, through diverting al-Wand River in Khanaquin area, causing draught in Shatt Arab Waterway from its Karoun River, whilst the Iraqi government was signing economic agreements with it, when it received a delegation, led by the Iranian Vice-President, accompanied by 200 businessmen,” Abdul-Karim told IraqiNews.com news agency, charging the Iraqi government with “having failed to condemn the Iranian aggression inside Iraqi territories.”   Abdul-Karim also charged “the existence of joint interests between the Iraqi and the Iranian governments, that forces Baghdad to keep silent, (towards the said Iranian aggression).”   He pointed out that the Iraqi Parliament had been “waiting for a report by the fact-finding commission towards the said Iranian aggression,” adding that the Parliament would invite Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibary, to know the reasons for the “Iraqi government’s non-condemnation of the Iranian bombardment and its drying out of the Iraqi rivers,” warning “that in the event of Iran’s non-response for the demands of Iraq and its Parliament, the joint agreements, concluded between Baghdad and Tehran would be revised.”   SKH (RT)   521
