Message to release young Iraqi sports player in Bahrain

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports said today that Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zebari sent a message to his Bahraini counterpart Khalid bin Ahmed al-Khalifa regarding the arrest of an Iraqi sports player Dho Al-Fiqar Abdul Amir Naji, who plays with Al-Muharaq Club.  In a statement issued by the Ministry of Youth, it noted that Naji is a high school student living with his family in Bahrain. The statement added that it pleaded with the Bahraini authorities to release him. They have not yet received a response, despite the young age of the player.  RM (TP)/SR    890
