White al-Iraqiya’s MP calls on UN to observe Kuwait’s military mobilization in Bubian Island
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of the White al-Iraqiya Bloc, Aliya Nuseif, has described Kuwiat’s recent military and security mobilization in Bubian Island on the Gulf, as “a step reflecting Kuwait’s bad intentions against Iraq,” calling on the United Nations to “observe and authenticate what is happening there on field levels.” “The Kuwaiti military mobilizations and security measures in Bubian Island might not have a field impact on the status-quo, as much as being a Kuwaiti message to the government and people of Iraq that the relations between the two countries have reached a closed course, in the viewpoint of the Kuwaiti government,” Nuseif said in a statement, copy of which was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The said Kuwait message, through which it had exposed its muscles, lacks most simple diplomatic norms, and it might not be different than the methods of the former Iraqi regime, that invaded Kuwait,” she stressed, adding: “I would like to ask for the reason of Kuwait’s step to follow the course of the former Iraqi regime, which it considered the worst regime in the world? .. Doesn’t it ( Kuwait ) must not copy its (former Iraqi regime’s) course of violence and military tactics?” Nuseif called on Kuwait to “respect what has remained of the relationship between the two countries and try to mend them, instead of pushing things towards the course of none-return,” saying that “the leaning to the International Law, regarding Kuwait’s Mubarak Port, would be the best solution, instead of the bold military mobilizations announced by Kuwait.” Kuwait’s al-Watan Newspaper had quoted a Kuwaiti government official as saying that Kuwait’s Defense Ministry had taken huge security measures in the Grand Mubarak Port, pointing out to the existence of a military force in Bubian Island, represented by the Kuwaiti Military Police, called “Amon” Defense Organization, the Intelligence, Air Defense, the 35 th Army Forces, and the 6 th Army and Naval forces.
