Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, reviewed the bilateral ties between Iraq and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday with the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

The meeting was attended by the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

“We met with the Saudi Crown Prince and exchanged views on developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region as well as ways to strengthen relations between the two countries,” Al-Hakim said via X, formerly Twitter.

“We emphasized the significance of preserving Iraq’s political and economic openness to its Arab and Islamic surroundings,” Al-Hakim explained.

The Iraqi leader indicated that the stability of Iraq had a positive impact on security in the region, calling on Saudi Arabia to invest in the promising reconstruction and development opportunities in Iraq.

In regards to the situation in Gaza, Al-Hakim called for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the assistance of the displaced.

The Iraqi leader also emphasized the need for maintaining dialogue between the parties in the region as well as Iraq’s desire to transition from the international coalition to combat ISIS to a partnership that upholds national sovereignty.
