Iraq’s President condemns Monday explosions

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s President Jalal Talabani has condemned on Monday the explosions that struck a number of Iraqi provinces during the day, charging their reasons for security loopholes and negligence to implement the political agreements among different blocs, according to a statement by his office on Monday.   “We strongly condemn those horrible crimes,” the statement, copy of which landed in IraqiNews.com news agency, quoted President Talabani as saying, adding that “they were committed due to the existence of security loopholes, most reasons of which had been the negligence to implement the understandings, reached by the Political Leaderships in Arbil.”   The statement quoted President Talabani as “calling on the political forces to set aside their differences and problems, and to begin immediately to find joint agreements and work together to strike the terrorists and cut the way on elements, who instigate sedition.”   Noteworthy is that today, Monday, had witnessed a series of explosions, the first of their kind in more than 2 months, that shook a number of Iraqi provinces, including Wassit, Karbala, Salahal-Din, Najaf and Kirkuk, killing more than 50 people and wounding about 200 others, according to security sources.   SKH (IT)   528
