Presidents of Iraq, Turkey discuss important issues in Baghdad
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, received on Monday the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad, where they held bilateral talks.
The meeting addressed the relationship between the two countries as well as strategies for fostering collaboration in different areas, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency.
The two sides talked about the need to reach satisfactory solutions to issues related to security, economy, and water in a way that serves the aspirations of both countries.
The two presidents highlighted the need to increase efforts in order to improve border security, address the problems posed by climate change and the water issue, and take advantage of Turkish expertise in this area.
Both sides talked about the Israeli aggression against Gaza, the necessity of standing by the Palestinian people, and the call for the international community to provide more humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza in order to establish security and stability on a regional and international scale.
Ministers and senior officials from both sides held in-depth discussions covering bilateral relations between the two countries, approaches to improve intra-trade, promote investment prospects, and the water issue.
The discussions also included political, security, and economic matters.
