SECURITY: Nujeify to attend International Conference on Palestine

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, is scheduled to lead a Parliamentary delegation to visit Iran early next week, to attend the International Conference to Support Palestine, as well as discussing issues of joint interest between both countries, including the Iranian bombardment of north Iraq’s territories and cutting river waters of Iraq.   “In response to an invitation by the Chairman of the Iranian Shoura Council, Ali Larijany, Iraq’s Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, shall lead a Parliamentary delegation to attend the International Conference in Support of Palestine, scheduled to convene in Tehran early next week,” a Parliament statement reported.   “The goal of the visit and Iraq ’s participation in the Conference is to support Palestine ’s demand to achieve UN membership, stemming from Iraq ’s support for Arab causes, especially the achievement of the rights of the Palestinian people,” he said.   The Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation shall also discuss with Iranian officials during the visit several important issues, related to the joint relations between both countries, especially the settlement of the issues facing that relationship, including the Iranian bombardment of northern Iraq Kurdistan’s border villages, the draught of rivers and marches, as well as the oil wells in the joint border areas between both countries.   SKH (IT) 251
