Agreement to Eliminate Discrimina?tion against Women passed in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Council of Ministers has issued an instruction for the approval of the Agreement to Eliminate all Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the National Plan for Human Rights in Iraq, an official statement has reported on Tuesday.   The statement stressed that the Council of Ministers has agreed on an proposal for the formation of a National Committee for Coordination to follow up the implementation of the said Agreements.   It pointed out that the Committee comprises in its membership, apart from ministries and related government institutions, representatives for the Human Rights Section in UNAMI, the UN Office for Serving Projects in Iraq and other parties.   SKH (TS)/SR 280
