Iraq’s government follows up WikiLeaks report on US execution of 10 Iraqis in 2006

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Media Advisor of the Iraqi government has announced on Sunday that the government was planning to follow up the dossier of the US Army’s execution of 10 Iraqis in one family of northern Iraq’s Balad township in 2006.   “The government shall follow up the dossier of compensating the rights of a number of Iraqi citizens, relatives of whom had been executed by American soldiers,” Ali al-Moussawi told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Moussawi said that the “Iraqi government wants to know the credibility of the documents, published by the said site, and in the event of being right, it shall demand the compensation of the citizens, harmed by those incidents,” adding that the investigations would be carried out through cooperation with the American Army, as those related to the incident had been American soldiers in Iraq.   A UN official had supplied Washington recently with a report about the execution of 10 Iraqis, including 4 women and 5 children, in a military operation in northern Iraq’s city of Balad in 2006, according to an American diplomatic message, published by WikiLeaks.   SKH (TI) 409
