Iraq’s Deputy PMs’ hegemony on ministries activity, obstacle against such activity, MP says.

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Oil & Energy Committee, Bahaa Jamaliddin, has called on Saturday for the release of the authorities of cabinet ministers and their authorities, considering the ‘hegemony’ of the deputy prime ministers on the activity of the ministries as an obstacle against such activity.   “A number of important ministries, including the Ministries of Oil and Electricity, had witnessed the absence of their ministers power on their ministries and the interference of authorities from outside those ministries, reflected by the ‘hegemony’ of the deputy prime ministers on the activity of the ministries, thing that represents an obstacle against the march of the work, caused by the undermining of the minister’s power,” Jamaliddin told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The Legislature said that the reason for the above problem “is the policies of the blocs the deputy prime ministers belong to and their interference in the activity of the ministries activity, due to the absence of the internal system of the Council of Ministers, that defines the authorities of the deputy prime ministers.”   Jamaliddin described what he termed as the “chained minister” that “he is in a position that one can’t envy him for, being in the middle of the hammer of the authority of the bloc he belongs to and the popular pressure, demanding services he is supposed to render.” SKH (RT)   428
