Over 20 wanted men detained, mortar shells confiscated in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Basra police has detained 22 wanted men and confiscated a quantity of mortar shells, in inspection operations in different parts of Basra Province on Tuesday, according to its media office on Wednesday.   “ Basra police forces have carried out security operations in different parts of the Province, arresting 22 demand men, charged with having committed different crimes,” the Province’s media office said in a statement.   “The police forces have also managed to confiscate 12 mortar shells in al-Mudeina township, 110 km to the north of Basra city,” the statement added.   Basra , the center of the Province carrying the same name, is 59 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (PT) 693
