100 MPs call on Iraqi government to demand departure of occupation forces

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A member of the Iraqi Parliament for al-Ahrar (Liberals) bloc, Uday Awad, has said on Monday that 100 legislatures have gathered signatures, calling on the government to demand the departure of the American forces from the country.   “The Legislatures have signed 100 signatures, calling on the government to demand the departure of the U.S. occupation forces, in compliance with the security agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington,” Awad told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Awad said that his al-Ahrar (Liberals) Bloc had a clear attitude against the U.S. occupation forces, rejecting their presence in Iraq.   He demanded the “other political blocs and Parliament members to take a similar attitude, and to demand the departure of the American occupation forces from Iraq and the imposition of sovereignty and independence of the country, without any foreign existence.”   SKH (TI)/SR 678
