27 wounded Palestinians from Gaza arrive in Iraq to receive treatment

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday the arrival of 27 wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Iraq to receive treatment.
The Health Ministry mentioned in a statement that the first batch of wounded Palestinians arrived in Iraq, coming from Egypt aboard a military aircraft, to receive treatment as part of the ‘Help Gaza’ campaign launched by the Iraqi government.
Ambulances transported 27 wounded Palestinians and their 42 companions to Iraqi hospitals to receive treatment.
The Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Hani Musa Al-Aqabi, and a team of paramedics received the wounded and their companions.
Most of the wounded are elderly, women, and children, according to Al-Aqabi.
The Iraqi government decided on April 7 to receive the wounded from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment in Iraqi government and private hospitals.
Iraq sent several shipments of humanitarian and medical aid and fuel to the Gaza Strip in coordination with the authorities in Egypt and Jordan.
The Iraqi government also opened an office to collect donations from Iraqis and send them to Palestinians besieged in the Gaza Strip.
Due to the severe Israeli shelling and fuel shortage, most hospitals in the Gaza Strip ceased operations.
Since October 7, Israel has been waging a large-scale war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which has led to the death of more than 35,000 Palestinians, according to health officials in Gaza, after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel that killed more than 1,200 Israelis, according to the Israeli authorities.
