Final casualty figure of attack on Mojahedin camp in Iraq, 8 killed, 115 injured, official

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The final casualty figure of an Iraqi forces attack against the anti-Tehran Mojahedin el-Khalq organization in northeastern Iraq’s Diala Province had reached 123 killed or injured, a local Diala official said on Monday. “The final result of the clashes in al-Iraq camp, previously Ashraf Camp, between the 5th Iraqi Army Division’s forces and Mojahedin e-Khalq elements last Friday, has reached 3 of its members killed, 103 injured, along with 12 Iraqi Army men, including 5 officers, injured,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Baaquba, the center of Diala Province, is 57 km to the northeast of Baghdad. Iraq’s State Minister and Spokesman for the Iraqi government, Ali Al-Dabbagh, had stated on Friday, April 8, 2011, that the Iraqi security forces, assigned to protect Ashraf Camp, had interfered after elements of the Organization got out of the camp and stoned the security forces, causing 5 injuries and a state of anarchy. “At the time when the Iraqi government warns the said Organization against violating the law, it shall deal with its members, according to the Iraqi laws,” Dabbagh said.   SKH (TR)/SR 675
