Border vent closed with Iran, protestors

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Tens of demonstrators of Khaniqin city closed today Munthiriyah border vent with Iran in protest for continued Iranian cut off of Wind River waters, as stated by water   resources officials in Diala province.   Eng. Basim Majeed told IraqiNews.com that the demonstrators closed the main international route connecting Iraq with Iran to block the flow of Iranian trucks.   Iran opened the flow of the waters for three days, then closed it which resulted in the damage of greater agricultural areas in the province.   An Iraqi local government delegation is formed and expected to leave for Iranian Kerminshah province to meet the Iranian officials and find suitable solutions to this problem.   Wind River pours from Kerminshah province into Iraqi territories till it finally pours into the Tigris River .   During the last few days, tens of Khaniqin citizens demonstrated calling for the flow of the waters.   Khaniqin city lies 170 km east of the capital, Baghdad .   RM (TI)     432
