Diala’s Security Committee warns from escape of prisoners

DIALA – IraqiNews.com: A Security Officer in northeast Iraq ’s Diala Province has warned from possible escape of prisoners, charged with terrorist cases, especially after the escape of several prisoners in the province recently.   “Diala prisoners include thousands of prisoners, most of them leading elements of al-Qaeda organization, charged with terrorist acts, due to their commitment of several murder operations,” Assistant Chairman of Diala Province ’s Security Committee, Dilair Hassan Saya told IraqiNews.com news agency on Friday.   Saya said that the number of prisoners “are not enough for such a large number of detainees and prisoners, so the Security Committee has demanded the transfer of prisoners, charged with terrorist acts to the prisons of Baghdad , in order to avoid the escape of prisoners, witnessed by some Iraqi Provinces.”   North Iraq Ninewa’s Security sources have reported last Thursday the escape of 35 prisoners from a Ninewa prison, whilst a curfew was imposed on Ninewa’s center city of Mosul due to the escape of the said prisoners, out of whom 20 were arrested.   Baaquba, the center of Diala Province , is 57 km to   the northeast of Baghdad .   SKH (IT)
