Two women abducted, one of them killed, in Diwaniya, south Iraq

DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Two women have been abducted in southern Iraq ’s Diwaniya city on Monday, whilst the body of one of them was found and the second was still abducted, according to a Diwaniya police source.   “A woman was abducted from al-Hamza al-Sharqi, 30 km to the south of Diwaniya city, and her body was found in Muthanna Province , hours after her abduction,” he told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that another woman was abducted in Shamiya township, 30 km to the west of Diwaniya, adding that the incidents were considered the first of their type in 2007, being a serious incident in the Province, seriously linked to its conservative tribal traditions.   Diwaniya, the center of the province carrying the same name, is 180 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)     922
