Al-Qaeda cell captured in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: An armed cell of seven gunmen was arrested on Wednesday in western Karbala, a member of the local council’s security committee said. “Acting on intelligence information, security authorities managed to arrest seven gunmen belong to al-Qaeda group, who were planning to launch attacks inside the province against political and religious figures,” Sattar al-Aardawi told reporters in Karbala. “The authorities started an investigation into the incident,” he added.
