Call to deal with Kuwaiti port by diplomatic means

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: MP Habeeb al-Tarfi called upon the Iraqi government to tackle the Kuwaiti Mobarak port question through diplomatic means, pointing out that “there are elements that want to escalate the situation between the two countries.”   Tarfi told IraqiNews.com that “there are media campaigns on the port to be made by Kuwait, but we are in no need of this escalation. In addition, the time is not ripe for that, so the Iraqi government should deal with the difference and verify facts through dialogue and diplomatic means that within the joint interests of both sides.”   “Iraq needs good and strong relations with all its neighbours, because we are living in an unstable region,” he added.   Tarfi warned that “there are circles want to abuse these relations and escalate tension, because they do not the stability of Iraq, but there are international laws that we can resort to.”   RM (TP)/SR 480
