New communications technologies needed – Karbala governor

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The governor of Karbala said today that the communication system is “old and requires new technologies, a matter which cannot be realized without private sector investments.”  Governor Amal al-Deen Al-Hir told IraqiNews.com that “the global communication system has been greatly developed, but we need more efforts in Iraq to develop it.”  “Karbala needs new communication technologies, as the province is visited by 35 million visitors annually, visitors who are in need of such communication systems,” he confirmed.  Karbala lies 108 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
