Fire in Karbala hotel injures 7 Pakistani visitors
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: A fire broke out in a hotel in the Shiite holy city of Karbala on Sunday, wounding 7 Pakistani visitors, who suffered from burns and suffocation, a Karbala official reported. “A fire that broke out in a hotel at al-Alqamy Street at the center of old Karbala on Sunday, had burnt out 3 of its floors, but the fire-extinguishing workers have managed to control the fire,” the official told Iraqi News. He said that the fire, caused by an electrical contact, had spread in the hotel, due to the absence of safety and security measures, where a large number of foreigners, especially Pakistanis resided, 7 of whom were harmed and taken to hospital for treatment.
