Iraq’s Turkomen Front calls on government to strive to stop bloodshed

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Turkomen Front has strongly condemned the continuation of the “security violations” aimed against citizens in a number of Iraqi provinces over the past few months, calling on the government to “act seriously to put an end to bloodshed in the country.” “The Iraqi Turkomen Front condemns the continuation of security violations, aimed at innocent Iraqi citizens over the past few months. The latest violation was the crime in Tikrit that witnessed a suicide explosion which claimed the lives of several young men, looking for a source of living, along with the treacherous blast that took place in Diala Province on Wednesday,” the Front announced in a statement on Thursday. A suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt, blew himself up amid hundreds of young men applying to join the police, in front of Tikrit’s Police Directorate, killing 54 people and wounding 137 others two days ago, according to a security source.   In another incident, Diala Province witnessed a booby-trapped car explosion close to the Institutions Protection Center and another car-bomb attack against Shiite visitors on their way to the holy city of Karbala, causing several casualties, among them the Vice-Chairman of the Province’s Council, Sadeq al-Hassany, who was injured in the blast. The Iraqi Turkomen Front has called on the Iraqi government to strive to put an end for the series of attacks against innocent Iraqis, in order to finish the security deterioration. They reaffirmed that “the only solution can be achieved by putting an end to the security violations, especially in those provinces that witnessed such violations recently.” Kirkuk is 250 km to the north of Baghdad.
