Three booby-trapped cars blasts kill 2, injure 19 in Kirkuk:

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Two people have been killed and nineteen others injured in three booby-trapped car explosions in north Iraq’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk early on Wednesday, a Kirkuk security source said. “A booby-trapped car blew off today (Wednesday) close to the headquarters of the Kurdsitan Democratic Party (KDP)’s Assayish (Security) on the main road leading to Baghdad, whilst a second car blew off close to Aqaba bin-Nafi’e Filling Station and a third exploded close to the Disables Office, southwest of the city, killing 2 persons and wounding 19 others,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. A Kirkuk police source told IraqiNews.com early in the day that a booby-trapped car blew off close to the said filling station, targetted against a motorcade of the city’s Police Director, Lt. Brigadier, Ahmed Shimrany, causing a number of casualties. The security source said that Shimrany was among the injured victims, along with a number of police officers, pointing out that the blast also caused damage to a number of vehicles and buildings close to the venue of the blast. Kirkuk, the center of the city carrying the same name, is 250 kms to the northeast of Baghdad. PT / SKH 413
