Kirkuk soldiers liberate 3 abducted Turkish workers

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Soldiers in Kirkuk have managed to liberate three Turkish workers and an Iraqi citizen, abducted more than two months ago by unknown gunmen men south of the city, an Iraqi Army officer said on Tuesday. “Kirkuk’s 12th Army Division’s soldiers have managed to liberate 3 Turkish workers and an Iraqi citizen, abducted more than 2 months ago from their residence in the city’s Officers compound,” Major Majid Towfiq told IraqiNews.com news agency. Kirkuk’s Police Director, Lt. Brigadier Sarhad Qader, had stated to IraqiNews.com that the three Turkish workers were abducted on Feb. 12, 2011, by unknown gunmen from their houses in the Officers compound, south of the city. Kirkuk is 280 km to the northeast of Baghdad.   SKH (TS)/SR 538
