14 arrested in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: 14 persons wanted for their involvement in the most recent Kirkuk blasts were arrested today, the Police Director General announced.   General Jamal Tahir said in a press conference, attended by IraqiNews.com, that Kirkuk police, in cooperation with anti-terrorism forces of the Kurdistan National Alliance, arrested the 14. In addition, he noted that they confessed to their participation in sabotage, including the May explosions in the center of Kirkuk, and the killing of the police commander in Dibis area.   He added that most of the arrested persons belong to Ansar al-Ilam, Ansar al-Sunna and al-Qaeda organization.   Kirkuk lies 280 km northeast of the capital, Baghdad.
