Doctor’s son abducted in third similar operation in Kirkuk in 2 weeks

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A group of unknown gunmen have abducted the son of a dentist in north Iraq’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Saturday night, in a third aduction operation over the past two weeks, a Kirkuk police officer said.   “The son of Kirkuk dentist, Fadhel Khurshid, was abducted close to his house in southwestern Kirkuk on Saturday night,” Colonel Kamel Ahmed told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the kidnapped child is called Murad and is 9 years old.   Noteworthy is that Kirkuk had witnessed the abduction of five persons, among them 3 doctors or members of their families over the past two weeks, thing that created anxiety among doctors, their families or families of rich people in the Kirkuk, 280 km to the northeast of Baghdad.   In another incident, a Kirkuk Joint Coordination Center reported that 3 rockets were fired on the Kirkuk air base, where the main headquarters of the U.S. forces exists, but losses were not known.
