URGENT: Kidnapped man’s family pay 50,000 dollars ransom for his release

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A family of a kidnapped man in northern Iraq ’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk has paid a US$50,000 ransom to his kidnappers, who released him on Thursday night, a Kirkuk Police source reported on Friday.   “The kidnnapped man, called Ary Mohammed Ali, who works in cars repairs in Kirkuk , has been released at 09:00 PM local time by his kidnappers in al-Riyadh township, 45 km to the south of Kirkuk ,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the kidnapped man was released after the payment of a 50,000 US dollar ransom by his family to his kidnappers, who abducted him from his workshop in Kirkuk on 25/8/2011 and locked him in a remote valley in al-Rashad township, 35 km to the south of Kirkuk .   “Al-Riyadh township’s Army and Police ptrols headed to the area, where the kidnapped man was released and handed him over to his relatives,” the police source said, giving no further details.   SKH (IT)
