Four oil wells drilled in Missan Province

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A group of oil investment companies in Hilfaya oilfield, Missan province, completed drilling four oil wells, the media department of Missan Oil Company said. Ali Altarfi told IraqiNews.com that the Chinese, Malaysian and French group of companies completed the drilling in Hilfaya oil field (35 km east of Amara ). “The plan is to drill 300 wells for this gigantic oil field within 5 years, according to the agreement signed with the Ministry of Oil,” he added. The contract stipulates that production should reach 535 thousand b/d, which is five times higher than the local production of the field, in addition to provision of gas products to neighboring power generating stations. “The reserves of this oil field are expected to reach 15 billion barrels.” This group of companies won the contract in the second bid for oil projects made by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
