Intensive security measures in Ninewa on occasion of Parliament Speaker’s visit:

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: North Iraq’s Ninewa Province is witnessing intensive security measures on Thursday on the occasion of a scheduled visit by Iraq’s Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify and a 35-member delegation to the Province that witnessed two suicide explosions that killed a leading Emergency officer in the Province, an Iraqi Army source said. “Ninewa Province had witnessed extensive security measures followed by the suicide explosive blasts that killed the Commander of Ninewa‘s 1st Battalion Emergency at his headquarters in west Mosul‘s Bab Sinjar district, at a time when a large Parliamentary delegation, led by Parliament’s Speaker, Usma al-Nujeifi, is visiting Mosul to hold a conference in its Ninewa Hotel,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the measures have covered the closure of most bridges connecting both sides of Mosul and its main roads, thing that caused a huge traffic jam in the branch roads of the city, giving no further details.
