Parliament’s speaker urges to allow governors to run security file

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Osama al-Nujaifi, called for giving governors the authority to run the security file in the country, a media source from his office said. “Al-Nujaifi held on Wednesday evening (Dec. 29) a press conference after the end of the economic and administrative conference in Ninewa, urging the parliament to solve problems and interact with the citizens,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The parliament is keen on the national unity between Iraqis and will work on achieving a political and economic development in the country,” the source added. Regarding Mosul problems, the speaker said that “Mosul problems are clear and need cooperation with the government to solve them.” “The governor has to have an authority to run the security file in the province,” he underlined.
