Fire accident burns 200 million Iraqi dinars in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A fire that broke out in an accounts office, belonging to the Directorate-General of northern Iraq’s Ninewa Police, has burnt 200 million Iraqi dinars, a Ninewa police source said on Monday.   “A fire that broke out in an accounts room in Ninewa’s Police Directorate, has burnt 200 million Iraqi dinars and injured a police officer,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the burnt money was prepared to be paid to the families of the police martyrs.”   He said that an investigation was opened to discover the real cause of the fire, which was supposed to have take place due to an electrical power fault.   Mosul, the center of Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad.   SKH (TS)/SR 566
