Call for Assistance in Ninawah of Floods

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: First Deputy Governor of Ninawah Province called upon humanitarian organizations and international bodies to assist families whose properties were damaged during the latest floods that hit the province.  Faisal Al-Yawar told IraqiNews.com that there are areas in west and north of Mosul are still suffering from the flood, which should assisted by providing tents and food stuffs.  He called upon humanitarian organizations and interntional bodies, particularly the Islamic, to increase their support for the damaged areas.  Agricultural areas were damaged as well as hundred of houses demolished.  Two persons were killed and seven injured due to the floods last April, which led great damages in houses, cattle and agricultural lands.  Mosul, center on Ninewa province, lies 405 north of the capital, Baghdad.  RM (TS)/SR 485
