Nimrud’s Police Director killed

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Police Director of Nimrud township in northern Iraq’s Ninewa Province, has been killed in an explosive charge blast on Tuesday, a Ninewa police source said. “Nimrud’s Police Director, Lt. Brigadier, Eid al-Jibouri, has been killed while on his work, in an explosive charge blast against his motorcade in Nimrud township, 40 km to the northeast of Mosul,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the blast had wounded his driver and four of his bodyguards. He said the victim had been target for several assassination attempts in similar attacks in Mosul city. Mosul, the center of Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad. SKH (TS)/SR 836
