Ninewa police liberate child abducted by his own brother

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Police in northern Iraq’s Ninewa Province have managed to free a child who had been abducted by his own brother. The child was released 72 hours after his abduction, and his brother was detained, a Ninewa police source reported on Saturday.   “Ninewa’s Zummar police have managed on Saturday morning to liberate a 3-year-old child and arrest his abductor, who was his eldest brother, in Hanka village of Zummar township, 90 km to the north of Mosul,” the Ninewa police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that the eldest brother had abducted his youngest brother to use him a means of pressure against his father, due to the existence of a family problem between them.  “Zummar police detained the abductor, whilst a judicial order was issued to arrest another person, who was charged as having been an instigator of the abduction,” the source noted.    Mosul, the center of Ninewa province, is 405 km to the north of Mosu.   SKH (TS)/SR 349
