Demonstration in Samarra city demanding resignation of Education Collage’s Dean:

SALAHADDIN / IraqiNews.com: Dozens of students of Tikrit University in Samarra City of Salahaddin Province, have domonstrated on Sunday, demanding the resignation of the Dean of its Education Collage, due to what they called as his “unjust” measures against the students. “The students have demonstrated for the third day inside the Education Collage of Tikrit University in Samarra city, demanding the resignation of the Collage’s Dean, Abdul-Majid Saleh, who takes decisions that limit the freedom of the students and imposes unjust measures on them, with a dictatorial method,” one of the student demonstrators, Muzhir Ibrahim, said. Dean Saleh, on his part, told IraqiNews.com news agency that “the demands of the students are illogical, for instance: can one achieve electricity all through the day or allow the students to park their cars in the University’s compound?, thing that is against the security measures taken in the city.” “The demonstration took place due to the closure of the evening classes, a measure that was taken due to the few number of students, thing that does not cover the collage’s expenses, depending on its self-financing,” he said. The Dean charged what he described as “certain parties out of the educational institution, that are pushing the students to demonstrate, as part of their political and media slogans, in order to undermine the educational and security process in Samarra.” Samarra city of Salahaddin Province is 120 kms to the north of Baghdad, whilst Tikrit, the Province’s center, is 175 kms to the north of the Iraqi capital.
