Chief of Salahaddin’s Court escapes assassination attempt

SALAHADDIN / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of   a court in north-central Iraq ’s Salahaddin Province has escaped an assassination attempt in a booby-trapped car attack on his motorcade in the Province’s Tikrit city on Wednesday, injuring 9 persons, including 4 of his guards, a police source said.   “Nine persons, including four of the guards, protecting Salahaddin’s Judge, Faisal al-Azzawi, have been injured in a booby-trapped car explosion, targeting his motorcade in central Tikrit early on Wednesday,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that the venue of the attack had been cordoned off by the security forces, whilst the injured persons were driven to a nearby hospital for treatment.   Tikrit, the center of Salahaddin Province , is 175 km to the north of Baghdad .   SKH (TS)   639
